Any changes will be communicated through Stack team App so ensure you are signed in with notifications on.
TEAM SELECTION/GRADING
Our volunteer committee has worked hard to make teams as even as possible. Whilst many people have made requests, we sadly cannot meet them all. However it is a great opportunity for players to make new friends in our basketball community.
Over the first few rounds we may make some changes to ensure the teams are as competitive as possible and we thank everyone in advance for their understanding and cooperation in this.
SKILLS SESSIONS
Skills sessions are run for all registered domestic players on Wednesday nights at Newhaven College starting Wednesday 18th February
PARENT REPONSIBILITIES
All players are to have a designated adult responsible for them at all times.
We ask that parents ensure that siblings are supervised and not interfering with games and or venue property.
All parents (excluding team coach) are to take equal turns at scoring. If you are unsure, please ask a venue supervisor or other parents. Each team is obligated to provide an adult scorer for each game.
All parents / spectators and visitors are asked to ensure they are behaving in a suitable and respectful manner that aligns with the values of children's sport. Basketball Victoria has a code of conduct that we ask all to adhere by. Phillip Island & District Basketball would also like to ensure that the environment in which we compete is not only safe and welcoming, but setting a good example for all players and respectful for all those involved.
VENUES
Our regular venues are Newhaven College Gym and Cowes Primary School Gym.
We ask that all families respect the venues and their property. Please do not enter the courts before a venue supervisor has arrived, and please ensure even if your child attends the school.
After school/during basketball it is important that we are not accessing, playing with or causing damage to school property. We rely solely on school venues to facilitate our competition and appreciate your respect and understanding.
We are excited for basketball to be back and see you all in the next few days.
